What we renovate and upgrade
-
Liner replacement & structural restoration
When a liner has reached the end of its life (brittle, faded, separating at the coping, or leaking from multiple points), replacement is the right call. We drain the pool, remove the old liner, inspect walls and floor, grind off rust, repair any wall damage, re-trowel the base where needed, and install the new liner. The pool goes back into service as quickly as possible.
-
Coping & pool deck
We replace coping and resurface or fully replace pool decks using concrete, pavers, or natural stone. Coping is the cap that locks the liner's top bead to the pool wall; when it fails, water gets behind the wall and the liner starts to separate. Both repairs are cheaper to address early.
-
Steps, entries & water features
We add or rebuild built-in stairs, entry ledges, and polymer step inserts. Water features (jets, bubblers, deck-mounted waterfalls, and in-wall features) can be retrofitted to most existing pools. Structural plumbing and step changes are drawn and quoted before work begins.
-
Lighting, automation & efficiency upgrades
LED colour lighting, variable-speed pump controls, smart automation, and heat pump or solar heating installs. Variable-speed pumps alone can significantly cut pool operating costs. We assess your current equipment, explain the options, and quote the upgrade before installation.
- New concrete deck
- Interior wall and base restoration

Frequently
asked
questions
Common questions about liner replacement, coping, water features, and how renovation quotes work.
Don't see yours? Give us a call at (519) 886-8751. We're always happy to talk it through.
Is it worth renovating an older pool, or should I replace it?
The deciding factor is the structure. The expensive part of a pool is the excavation and wall installation, not the liner, deck, or coping. If the steel walls are sound, renovation is almost always the better investment. If the walls are bowing, panels have failed, or there's through-rust, you're looking at a rebuild regardless. We assess the structure on-site and give you an honest assessment. If a rebuild makes more financial sense, we'll tell you that too.
Can I change my pool's size or shape?
Some modifications are possible. Vinyl pools can be deepened or have a shallow-end floor regraded, and step configurations can be added or removed. Widening or lengthening the pool is a much larger scope: it means new walls, a new liner, and new coping, which is closer to a rebuild than a renovation. We assess the existing structure and give you an honest picture of what's involved before any commitment.
Do pool renovations require a permit in Waterloo Region and surrounding townships?
It depends on the scope. Cosmetic upgrades like liner replacements, equipment repairs, or minor plumbing fixes do not require a permit. However, significant upgrades do require permits to ensure your home insurance and safety are protected. Structural changes, like adding a permanent structure such as a cabana, require a municipal building permit. Ontario law also requires an ESA permit for hardwired electrical upgrades and a licensed gas permit for new pool heaters. We flag all permit requirements during the quoting stage so your project is fully compliant with no surprises.
Can water features be added to an existing pool?
Yes. Jets, bubblers, deck-mounted waterfalls, and in-wall features can all be retrofitted to most existing pools. The scope depends on your current plumbing layout. We assess the existing setup and quote the structural and plumbing changes before any work begins.
Do you provide written quotes before starting renovation work?
Yes, always. We assess the pool on-site, discuss what you want to do, and provide a written quote before any work begins. There are no surprises on the invoice.
